Originating from the African dance culture, American Jazz dance has changed and continued to develop through the decades.  While having its own base technique, Jazz dance can best be described as the genre that's physical movements embody the popular music of any given time.

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO MASTER THE BASICS AT EACH LEVEL BEFORE PROGRESSING TO THE NEXT, AND ARE ADMITTED INTO UPPER LEVELS ONLY BY AUDITION OR INVITATION BY THE INSTRUCTORS.
