Becky began dancing at the age of 11 with a tap class. By 13 her passion for dance had blossomed and she was taking multiple classes in tap, jazz, lyrical, and ballet while also competing in regional and national dance competitions. However by age 16 she experienced several stress fractures in her spine which took her out of dance for over 6 months. Her injury rehabilitation was her first introduction to the Pilates Method which allowed her to understand her body's needs and imbalances, but it also started a whole new journey of exploration in anatomy, self care, and physical conditioning to support her dance career. Sharing these concepts with her students is empowering and incredibly fulfilling.

In 1996 Becky became director of an after school dance program in Northshore School District and later a full time teacher at Woodinville Dance Academy. In 1997 she joined the inaugural performance troupe at WestLake Dance Center with Kirstin Cooper. She also took her first professional job with Greg Thompson Entertainment. From 2003-2006 she took a break from teaching and local performing and took a job dancing on cruise ships where she also met her South African husband Brett.  In 2007 she received an ARTSBridge scholarship where she developed a curriculum blending dance and studio art for an Orange County Elementary School. In 2008 she received a BA in Dance Choreography from UC Irvine as well as her 400 hour Comprehensive Pilates Method Teacher Certification from Studio Du Corps in Costa Mesa, California.

In 2009 after her first son was born Becky began teaching Pilates at local gyms and studios. She eventually opened up her own private home studio focusing on private Pilates apparatus instruction. Becky loves to be a student herself and is constantly taking continuing education workshops and exploring new certifications. In 2015 she added a Reflexology License to her endorsements and currently is in school for the Franklin Method. Becky is thrilled to return to her dance roots and bring her diverse background to the SVAD community.

Outside of all her career Becky is a wife and a mom of 2 busy boys. She is an avid hiker and backpacker. She is a lover of travel and photography and is always looking for new adventures.
